5 ways to enjoy a day out with the family at Fort Kinnaird

Fancy a Friday’s signature grill or cocktail? There are plenty for the children too. The Little League menu offers a range of smaller dishes from £5.25, while the Major League menu features mini versions of Friday’s Favourites from £6.75. All dishes come with tasty sticks of apple, cucumber and carrot, and free baby food is also available - just ask a member of the team for more details.

Frankie & Benny’s know the score when it comes to keeping kids happy and parents relaxed: good food and great fun. Their kids’ menu offers lots of tasty mains for big and little eaters alike – plus healthy, vegetarian and vegan alternatives too. For when they get a bit restless, kids can turn to their fun, free activity packs to keep them entertained. 

Another venue for great-tasting Italian-style food is Pizza Hut, which also has a great kids menu. With the Little Boss option, kids can choose a main, salad, drink and dessert for just £5.99. Bigger kids can upgrade with the Big Boss menu which also includes a side dish for £7.99.

Craving a wagamamas? Enjoy your favourite dishes while your little noodlers slurp a mini ramen, sip on a fresh juice or enjoy a mini chicken katsu from the kids menu – packed full of nourishment to fuel them for a big family day out.

Odeon cinema

Sit back, relax and enjoy a movie on the big screen at ODEON Fort Kinnaird – cinema treats compulsory of course.

Featuring seven screens of pure entertainment showing stunning RealD 3D, including a pitch-perfect Dolby Atmos sound system, there are plenty of options on offer.

  1. Make it a fuss-free journey

Whether you’re arriving by car, train or even bicycle, it is super easy for families to get here for a day out in Edinburgh.

Heading here on a bike? Take advantage of our free bicycle parking stations and simply store your bikes during your visit.

If you’re travelling by train, there are regular services from Edinburgh Haymarket and Waverley stations to nearby Newcraighall station, and from there we are around a 10-15 minute walk. It’s worth keeping an eye on Scotrail for full timetable and ticketing information.

There are also plenty of car parking spaces available at our free car parks, including over [number] parent and child spaces. We also have free EV charging points to charge your electric or hybrid car during your visit.

To take away some of the stress around visiting with little ones, Fort Kinnaird has a host of family-friendly facilities, so it’s worth checking them out before you set off.

Baby change facilities are located throughout the centre for both mums and dads, and you can find our outdoor children’s play area for under 10’s outside Caffe Nero.
