We put the kids in charge of the back to school shopping trip
The back-to-school shop is often loved by kids and loathed by adults. But what if all the difficult decisions were taken away from parents and guardians and instead handed to the kids themselves?
At Fort Kinnaird, we decided to put the kids in charge!
So, with the new term approaching, we asked Mum Force, Gail, to put her son, Cassius, in control, from choosing which of our many retailers to visit to where to go for lunch - and everything in between!
During a fun-filled day out, Gail posed a few questions to Cassius on what they got up to and how they found their back-to-school shop at Fort Kinnaird:
- Tell us about your day…
“It’s the first time I’ve ever done a school shop, so I was really excited! I chose a new rucksack from TK Maxx, shirts and a great pencil case and pens.”
- What do you love about the rucksack you have picked?
“It’s NASA themed, so I can pretend to be an astronaut in the playground!”
- What are you most excited to use and wear when you go back to school?
“To show my friends my pencil case and all my new pencils”
- What was the favourite part of your day?
“I loved going into all the shops and buying lots of new things to take to school. The trip to Pizza Express, too, it was so tasty!”
If you are feeling inspired by their trip, start planning your own back to school shop at Fort Kinnaird -- from M&S and Next to schuh Kids and TK Maxx, there are plenty of retailers to choose from.
